Loch Lomond Stirling and the Trossachs ( 1 day tour )

This tour takes in a visit to Stirling Castle one of Scotland's grandest and most imposing royal castles, steeped in history and intrigue. From here we take the short walk to the Church of the Holy Rude the medieval church where the infant James VI (son of Mary Queen of Scots) was crowned in 1567 and John Knox preached the sermon. Next stop is Cambuskenneth Abbey founded in 1147 as a house of Augustinian cannons and where Robert the Bruce held his first parliament in 1326, as well as being the burial site of King James III and his queen.

Our afternoon journey takes us towards the Trossachs via Doune Castle the magnificent 14th century courtyard castle, built for the Regent Albany, later home to the Stuarts of Doune, the Earls of Moray and latterly used in the filming of Monty Python and the Holy Grail.

Upon entering the Trossachs we pass by the picturesque lochs of Venachar, Achray and around the shores of Loch Katrine made famous by Sir Water Scott. Finally, we approach our final stop, the world famous banks of Loch Lomond some 26 miles long and 650 feet deep, the largest and most beautiful expanse of fresh water in the United Kingdom.

Central Highlands ( 1 day )

Come with us on a relaxing journey through Highland Perthshire and witness some of the most beautiful scenery Scotland has to offer. We journey up first passed Loch Lubnaig to Balquidder site of Rob Roy Macgregors grave and on to the majestic Falls of Dochart at Killin before climbing high up into the Ben Lawers Mountain Range high above Loch Tay, where the views far below are breathtaking. Our journey takes us over the mountains and down into Glen Lyon one of Scotland's most beautiful and longest glens and home to Europe's oldest tree the Fortingall Yew, around they say, when Pontius Pilate was born nearby. We travel to Queens View with the views down Loch Tummel and to Schiehallion that so entranced Queen Victoria and on to Killiekrankie, site of the 1689 battle won by the Royalists under Bonnie Dundee and where you can see the Soldiers Leap where a fleeing government soldier made a spectacular jump over the River Garry during the battle. Our homeward journey takes us through the beautiful Perthshire countryside back into the lowlands.

Northwest Highlands Glencoe and Loch Ness ( 1 day )

Our journey takes us north of the highland line through Rob Roy country and the Breadalbane Mountains to Glen Dochart and up onto Rannoch Moor and the Black Mount before finally descending into Glencoe home to the 1692 Massacre of the Glencoe MacDonald's by the soldiers of King William of Orange. We enter the Great Glen beneath Ben Nevis, Britain's highest mountain and travel north along canal, lochside and river before reaching Urquhart Castle, perched high above the 24 mile long dark expanse of Loch Ness. Urquhart is one of the largest castles in Scotland and was once home to Clan Grant before falling into ruin after 1689 and being blown up in 1692 to prevent it from being used by the Jacobites. Our homeward journey takes us to Inverness, through the Grampian Mountains and finally the Forest of Atholl, with a brief shopping opportunity at the House of Bruar along the way.
